1. What this site provides

This site provides a free, browser-based calculator that estimates daily dry food amounts for dogs and cats, together with explanatory articles. The service is provided free of charge and without any account or registration.

2. Estimates, not advice

All results are estimates. They are generated from published reference formulas (National Research Council, Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats, 2006, and WSAVA Global Nutrition Committee guidelines) applied to the values you enter. Individual energy requirements vary substantially — published reference data shows a wide spread between animals of the same weight.

This site does not provide veterinary medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a substitute for examination by a licensed veterinarian. Always consult your veterinarian about your pet’s specific dietary needs, particularly for puppies and kittens, pregnant or nursing animals, pets with a medical condition, and therapeutic or prescription diets.

3. Your responsibility for inputs

The accuracy of any result depends entirely on the values you enter. You are responsible for entering correct weight, life stage, activity level and food calorie information. Where a product label gives a calorie figure, you should use that figure rather than any default suggested by this site.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
• scrape or republish the site’s content in bulk without written permission;
• misrepresent results from this site as veterinary advice, or as the advice of any veterinarian;
• use the site for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual property

The site’s text, design, layout and code are protected by copyright. Underlying formulas and reference values are drawn from publicly published scientific and veterinary sources. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link to this site.

6. Third-party links and advertising

This site contains links to third-party websites, including affiliate links described in our Affiliate Disclosure. It also displays third-party advertising. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices.

7. Availability

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time.

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
